Brief History of the Department:

The department of English has always played a binary role ever since its establishment in the year 1982. it takes Pride in its achievements over the past 4 decades in its multi-dimensional service in close liaison with students, office, the management and the public. The department is fully aware of the role of English and inthechangingcontext.Henceithastakengiantstridessuccessfully to conduct co-curricular and extracurricular activities, fully student centred. This is its 42 year the department apart from teaching the prescribedsyllabus,hasbeenconductingaseriesofspeciallecture, seminars, workshops and arranging film shows since its inception the department has its own objectives and milestone. They are:

• experimentation in teaching
• Using translation method to teach
• Arranging film shows of all the prescribe
• Assigning innovative assignment
• Counselling for optional English
